Venrock Re-Ups With $600 Million New Fund

MENLO PARK, CA -- Venture capital firm Venrock Associates has formed a new $600 million fund, according to a report in the San Francisco Business Times.

The firm was originally created as a venture investing arm of the Rockefeller family, intends to invest the fund primarily in healthcare, media, energy and general technology.

To that end, it has hired David Siminoff as general partner.  He will be focused on media ventures.  The firm has offices in Menlo Park, New York, Cambridge and Israel.
